The Pink Hawk, Surgery and Love is Freedom

Abigail has a new obsession with the Littlest Pet Shop toys these days. She recently got this adorable little peacock with a crown and a scarf of feathers. It's adorable and I can certainly see where the obsession would come in because these things are SO cute. Anyway, when we went to my parents house the Saturday after Thanksgiving to celebrate it with them she took her new peacock with her. After dinner she and my brother were talking and she asked him where the pink hawk was. He got confused for a minute and when she showed him her peacock he realized that because of her hearing (She has significant hearing loss, about 40% due to fluid in her ears.) she thought this whole time we were calling her little blue peacock a pink hawk. It still makes me laugh thinking about it.

The Pink Hawk.

Luckily we are getting her hearing as well as Jack's hearing fixed tomorrow. You see, in order to drain the fluid behind both of their ears they need tubes put in. The will also have their adenoids taken out. This should just be a quick, one hour outpatient surgery for both of them but I am still a nervous wreck for it. I am looking forward to seeing them get better, and hear better, but my babies will be under anesthesia and that does not make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Speaking of feeling warm and fuzzy inside if you haven't checked out Love is Freedom at http://www.loveisfreedom.net/ you should hightail it over there right now. This man has taken kindness to a whole new level and it just warms my heart. It's high time we focus on being kind and gentle to people rather than gossipy and judgmental and this blog focuses on just that; kindness. I love it.
